New Era Billet MAF Flanges

The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor flange is an important part of an air intake in LS-X engines. The engine control module uses airflow data collected from the MAF sensor to calculate fuel trims. This process requires the sensor to be mounted in an area of equalized airflow to prevent inaccurate calculations. Our flanges were designed as a component of our air intake systems which positions the MAF sensor to correctly function with the stock PCM calibration. This allows the intake to produce as much power as possible without requiring a retune.

The flanges are designed and manufactured in-house on our 3-axis CNC within a tolerance of +/- .001”, allowing for precise and consistent sensor location. The contour cut into the base ensures depth accuracy into each of our intakes. Our 5th Gen Camaro flange is machined from 6061 Aluminum, while steel is used for the CTS-V intakes. This eliminates the risk of stripping out plastic threads typically found in ABS and composite intake systems.

New Era 5th Gen Camaro "OTR" Air Intake

Gain up to 30rwhp & 28lb/ft rwtq!

The New Era Performance “OTR” (Over The Radiator) air intake system is the most unique air induction system available for the 5th Gen Camaro SS. The concept derives from this fact: The best source of low temperature air is in front of the vehicle (especially when it is in motion). The OTR tilts the top of the radiator back about 2 inches, securing it with the mounting tabs affixed to the bottom of the filter housing.

When compared against other performance air intakes in a recent outside test, the New Era OTR was proven to provide the lowest intake air temperature to the engine. Lower intake air temperature results in more power! Also, the system’s shorter, more direct, 4” charge duct allows for a great improvement in throttle response. To prevent filter blockage such as bugs and dirt, a shield is installed in front of the filter, attaching to the factory radiator mounting bolt holes. This also helps prevent water from reaching the filter in heavy rain.

Dyno Results!

On our completely stock 2010 Camaro SS (automatic) from simply bolting on the New Era OTR air intake system, we gained 22rwhp and 24lb/ft rwtq. With the addition of a custom PCM tune on this particular car, we were able to gain an additional 8rwhp and 4lb/ft rwtq for an overall gain of 30rwhp and 28lb/ft rwtq!

New Era Pontiac G8-GT "OTR" Air Intake

Gain up to 23rwhp & 19lb/ft rwtq!

The first "OTR" air intake system developed at New Era was our G8GT system, and New Era was also the first shop in the US to develop an "OTR" style intake system for a car that was a traditional factory side style induction. This over-the-radiator air intake stands alone with a sharp, unique, look and exceptional performance. By tilting the radiator back about 2", this intake system allows your engine to collect low-temperature air from the best possible source: the front of the car. This results in significant power gains, while the direct, zero-bend, 3" charge allows for noticeable throttle response enhancements. As part of construction, a high-quality aluminum velocity stack is used at the charge inlet to equalize airflow through the stock MAF sensor housing. This ensures the best possible compatibility with the stock PCM calibration, making this a great bolt-in piece. This kit includes a filter shield to prevent water damage and a PCV hose.

Dyno Results!

With final product testing on our dyno, we achieved a gain of 17rwhp and 13lb/ft rwtq by simply installing the intake (no tune). With a custom PCM tune, we measured an additional 6rwhp and 7lb/ft rwtq to make an overall gain of 23rwhp and 19lb/ft rwtq on this completely stock G8GT!

New Era Cadillac CTS-V Cold Air Intake

Gain up to 54rwhp & 33lb/ft rwtq!

The best option for your 09+ CTS-V is the New Era cold air intake... In a recent privately conducted outside test, this intake system was said to outperform the competition both in power gains and aesthetically. Competing systems typically use (2) 90˚ bends in their construction, where ours uses (3) 45˚ bends, resulting in better air flow and a higher velocity charge for better throttle response. A key feature of this system is also the filter location. We use a large K&N air filter, positioned just right to collect the coldest possible air, ambient to the vehicle. This system utilizes our billet CNC MAF flange, positioned just right to enable plug and play operation of this intake.

Dyno Results!

Chassis Dyno results on a completely stock CTS-V equipped with our intake yielded an incredible gain of 34rwhp and 28lb/ft rwtq. With the addition of a custom PCM tune, we gained an additional 20rwhp and 5lb/ft rwtq to make an overall gain of 54rwhp and 33lb/ft rwtq! an incredibly noticeable power gain.

New Era Cold Air Intake kit for ZL1 Camaro

 

The New Era cold air intake is the premier system for the ZL1. Our system grabs cold air straight from the driver side brake duct by utilizing the area that was once home to the windshield washer reservoir, after vigorous testing, we found this to be the best way to get the coldest air to the LSA engine. The smooth four inch mandrel bent 6061 aluminum tubing, honed at each weld joint, allows for greater air flow and in turn a half pound more boost! All this nets the ZL1 11rwhp and 11rwtq. When properly tuned you can expect a minimum of 30rwhp and 30rwtq (Tuning is recommended)! The durable wrinkle black powder-coated intake and windshield washer relocation reservoir perfectly match the ZL1's supercharger creating a stunning look under the hood. We sell this kit with or without the reservoir.

 

 

 

 


  • New Era Adjustable Billet Aluminum Belt Tensioner

    Fits 98-02 LS1 F-Body, 04-06 GTO, 5th Gen Camaro, C5/C6 Corvette

    The adjustable billet belt tensioner helps to maintain a desired level of belt tension. This is especially helpful in high-horsepower applications where the belt can potentially "walk" off a pulley, disabling the vehicle. This completely replaces the stock sprung belt tensioner. Entire tensioner is designed and precision machined in-house, using our 3-axis CNC from billet 6061 Aluminum. The kit comes with 304 stainless steel hardware, including the fulcrum shoulder bolt and washers. This tensioner will also look great under your hood.

     

    Stock tensioner pulley works with this kit and must be removed and installed onto the new tensioner. Though we offer an optional clear anodized, billet 6061 aluminum pulley, the tensioner itself does not include a pulley and should be used with the stock one or with the optional aluminum one. Currently available as separate part numbers for 98-02 LS1 Camaro/Trans am, 04-06 GTO, 2010+ Camaro, C5/C6 Corvette.
